The Color Run 2013

"Yay, we go to the color run!"  Little miss you were very excited about the idea of coming with us to the Color Run this year.  Passing through our first color station, orange, you realized it meant getting dirty and you got very upset by that.  After the yellow station you were done.  We finished the course but let you pass by the last two color stations...  I'm sorry if you didn't have a good time love.  I hope you enjoyed it a little bit, you've mentioned going to the color run a couple times since we've gone. 

All tuckered out.

Cinq Gardens

Cinq Gardens
April 26, day 117.

Everyday, for almost a week, we found time to walk down the hill to an open field thats been left to grow wild with dandelions.  Addie's dubbed this space next to our home as "cinq gardens."  Cinq means five in french, but she always holds up all ten fingers when asking to go.  

We never stay too long, just long enough to visit our neighbor working to clear the field of debris and to make a dandelion wish or two.  Then off we climb back up the hill, usually pretending to be Diego and Alicia.

She is fearless, she is fast and she will take off as soon as her little feet hit the ground.

Bathing suit season is upon us.  Little A is is growing up and joining the big girls.

Spray painted our outdoor table a cheery yellow.  I really like the pop of color though hubby hates it :)  Having a great time here cleaning up out front yard and making it a more inviting space!

A trail down an overgrown path at the end of our road leads to a big open field "behind enemy lines." I never thought I'd be so excited to see a field of dandelions, but alas, they created a fun location for taking photos.

Play date with good friends we hadn't seen in awhile.  Baby A got soaked while splashing in the kiddy pool, in 50 degree weather mind you.  She was completely entranced by the water.  I had to peel her away from the pool when I noticed her little chin was a-quieverin, she was very upset about it.  

Fortunately playing in the dirt is her second favorite thing to do.

Sitting on a chair like a big kid now, sometimes I forget she's only 13.5 months old.

I think its apparent I need to do some yard work.  Took these before pics in hopes it will motivate me to get an "after" photo.

Making banana bread.  Stealing bites of dough is a right of passage for little kiddos helping mom bake.

She doesn't like to play as rough as her big sis, she prefers little tickles.

The weather took a break from clouds and rain to give us a beautiful day on Easter.

She keeps asking to fall asleep on the couch at night.

We had a play area behind our couch for baby A that really never got much use.  It ended up being just an eye soar and a catch all area for kids toys.  To encourage the girls to actually use the space downstairs, I set up a play station.  Each week I plan on swapping out the toys on top to hopefully keep them interested.

How many dresses can one girl wear in a day?  Or should I say in a couple of hours.  "I'm a princess" she says with every new dress she tries on and then proceeds to ever so slightly raise her shoulder and give a glance worthy of the title.
